A couple of months ago I shared on Instagram, that after being in our current apartment for over 5 years, we were house hunting. Welp, plans have changed, my friends! We made the decision to pay off most of our debt instead, and to downsize while we save for a couple more years. Our goal is to up our house budget by saving a larger downpayment, in this time.
Meanwhile, we found another apartment to move into that we’re SUPER stoked about. It’s in a great area, local to my grandparents, more of our friends, and places we frequent. The elementary school Benjamin is zoned for has the highest rating as well.
We’ve been purging like crazy, and it’s been such a freeing process! I’ve sold a ton of stuff on Facebook Marketplace and we’ve donated bags and bags of clothes, shoes, and household goods. We still have so much to do, but I’m loving this process.

I’m so excited to have a fresh space to decorate as well! I actually quite like apartment living, and believe you can still make an apartment your home. We’re replacing most of our furniture in this move, and so I’ve enjoyed creating mood boards on Pinterest and finding inspirational Instagram accounts to follow. We’ve started picking out furniture online, and have commissioned a local woodworks craftsman to make us a farmhouse table and bench. I cannot wait for it to be delivered!
I definitely have an eclectic style when it comes to home decor. I lean towards maximalist interiors (even with the extra challenge of working with a small space), especially when it comes to books, art, and collectibles. I love modern farmhouse decor and the boho/ jungalow trend. Heart eyes.

I hope you’ll stick around to see how we turn our new apartment into our home! I’ll be sharing updates and room reveals as we go. Be sure to follow me on Instagram, and check out my Pinterest boards for more ideas.
