For my birthday this year, I rented the cutest tiny house/cottage for a couple of nights in Dahlonega, Georgia. We had visited this part of North Georgia a few years ago and think it’s a great destination for a quick Atlanta getaway or day trip, since it’s only about an hour north. This year it was just Benjamin and myself, and I was really excited for a little mother and son adventure.
We both love spending time outdoors, but this offered a bit more luxury and comfort than traditional camping. It was definitely more like “glamping”. The tiny home we stayed in was very cute. It was stocked with games, and had a pretty decent-sized kitchen space. I brought simple meals and snacks, that would be easy to grab on the go or eat outside on the picnic table.
First up on our agenda was stargazing and s’mores!
We spent the entire next morning on site. The tiny home was nestled on 3 acres of land, which offered Benjamin quite a lot of space and opportunity for playing outdoors. In addition to the fire pit, there were two chimineas, so I was able to sit in front of a fire while I watched him play — so relaxing!
I picked up these new Goldfish Epic Crunch crackers at Kroger in the Ranch and Nacho flavors for the trip. They were perfect for our fireside snacking and to throw in my backpack for our adventures. Listen friends, these are SO GOOD! They are seriously like a mashup of traditional Goldfish crackers and your favorite tortilla chips. I honestly couldn’t believe how tasty a flavor they had.
Later that day, we packed up our backpacks and headed off to explore. When one of our destinations didn’t turn out to be much, we ended up at Yahoola Creek Park. Although pretty chilly, the sun was shining brightly, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It’s a huge park, with multiple playgrounds, fields, and trails. I loved watching the creek especially!
Benjamin and I had such a good time on our mini vacay. I hope it’s just one of many mother and son adventures we have.
