We love Halloween. It’s our favorite time of year to enjoy gorgeous weather and spend time with friends at various fall festivals. We tend to go to a lot of events the weekend of Halloween, which provides for lots of fun dressing up opportunities. Benjamin is still super into playing dress up and pretend! Nearly every day he’s an astronaut or a police officer or Black Panther or Captain America or Dr. Pete… you get the idea. But for Halloween up until now, he still allows me to pick one of his costumes and go to town. Last year, he was Bruno Mars from the Uptown Funk video, and I never posted the photos here! He loves Bruno Mars and people would tell us he looks like him (ha!) so it was a natural choice. Here’s Benjamin’s ‘Uptown Funk” video Bruno Mars Halloween Costume.

I sent my mom a photo of Bruno from the video, and she made this adorable jacket for Benjamin! Isn’t it perfect? She found the hat on clearance after Easter (score!). We purchased his shades at the J.Crew Factory Store while visiting family in St. Louis. His pants and shoes were found at a children’s resale store. I purchased the watch and necklace on Amazon, the handkerchief from the dollar store, and an undershirt from Target. I wanted to get him a gold cross but couldn’t find one at a price I was willing to pay if he broke or lost it. Despite not having that, everything else came together perfectly! We had an opportunity to take these photos of him at the Southeastern Railway Museum, where we take him trick-or-treating every year. They had recently opened their exhibit of buses — so cool!
