“A portrait of my family, once a week, every week, in 2014”
At the first of year we decided to give up my car, making us a one-car family. Ben works between Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Peachtree Center, downtown, and rides the train between them. Although the station is close, it’s not close enough for him to walk to, so on the days that Benjamin and I need/want to use the car, we have to get up a little earlier to take Ben to the hospital (where the train station is). It’s only been a couple of weeks, but so far it’s really working out. I imagine in the Spring it will be harder since we’ll want to get outside more but we’ll address that when the time comes. On Friday, I brought my camera with me to pick up Ben, in the hopes of getting a photo of him for this project. The first one I took was posed. This is the second (of two) I took where he was looking down at a car driving up. I love it!
This photo of Benjamin is part of a series I took of him in his crib. When I showed my husband he exclaimed, “That is SO Ben”, and it is! This is his “pick me up” or “give me that” reach.
