We're Headed Back to California and Here's What's On Our Vacation Bucket List

This post is sponsored by Discover Boating but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

It's official! Benjamin and I are headed to California in July for two weeks of fun in the sun! Last month I shared in our summer bucket list post, that we weren't going to be able to, but plans have changed and we are thrilled! In addition to all the things we hope to accomplish on that list, we're looking forward to spending time with our family and friends across the country. We'll probably hit up at least a few of the destinations we included in our 48-hour guide to free and cheap fun for kids in Orange County and Los Angeles, but we've got our eye on a few new experiences as well.

I want to check out a different Adventure Playground than we went to last year. This one is in Huntington Beach and is specifically geared toward kiddos 5 through 12 years old. I think Benjamin would have a blast there with his eldest cousin. I'm also looking into taking a Whale watching tour. It's not something I've done before, even having grown up in SoCal, and I think it could be a lot of fun to experience for the first time together.

The last time I took him to visit friends in Newport, he was a little peanut. He loved watching the boats in the harbor and I'm looking into experiences to take him boating there this summer. Discover Boating makes it really easy to learn about boating, as well as explore local programming. The Go Boating Today tool allows you to search for local boat rentals, clubs, and more near you. I love the Video Vault—which includes tons of how-to videos and boating basics. Yay, summer homeschool opps! ;) I've also lost myself in searching youth boating programs. What an awesome experience that would be as he gets older!
Summer vacation planning is in full effect, and I can't wait to share the adventures we come up with! If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them as well!
