Mama Style: Faith and Transparency

I received complimentary product from Fight Apparel Designs in order to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free." - John 8:36
I want to talk about the word freedom

The dictionary defines freedom (noun) as "the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint; the absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government; and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved."

The Bible defines freedom as a "liberation from slavery, restraint or the power of another." It says that to free (verb) is "to relieve or rid of what restrains, confines, restricts, or embarrasses."

Wow. I'm going to let that sink in for a minute.
When I set out to write this post, I wanted to talk about two very important things. Faith and transparency. I have been blogging for 11.5 years. I've written about all sorts of topics from crafting to family, Atlanta living, and more. I've barely scratched the surface on discussing my faith journey and I'd like for that to change. My story is not unlike your own. There is the good, the bad, and the ugly. There is a lot of ugly in my past. I've written some about depression and anxiety, heartbreak, and loss. Really hard things that make up my story and resonate with so many of you.

Transparency and authenticity are the most important things to me as a blogger and of great value to me as a person. Authentic means "not false or copied; genuine; real." This blog is a place to share my truth and the truth about me through my own perspective. It's important to me to present my real self in order to develop and foster the meaningful relationships that I have via social media. Everything is what you make of it and I feel fortunate that I've had this space along the years to connect with others.

I am able to do this because I am free. Free from my sin and free from my shame. Jesus did that for me. I need not be embarrassed or ashamed of the things that I've been through and done because I have repented of my sin and asked God for forgiveness, and He has liberated me. I am free.
