What's Uuuuup?!

It's Friday!! Woot! *happy dance* You guys, life is craz-ay right now! Like, I have a curious and extremely active toddler, crazy. Like, I'm working 24/7 on 10 million projects AND we're getting ready to move across town, crazy. And ya know what? I love it. Truly. I thrive in this type of chaos excitement. Most days anyway. I am way past overtired, but I'm totally inspired. Some might say manic perhaps? Like, I can't turn my head off for all the excitement. So many ideas!

January was AWESOME! 2014 is my year, ya'll. I can just feel it. We've made quite a few big changes already as a family, including making the transition to one car and securing a larger living space. Our plans to tackle our debt are already underway and I am proud of the efforts we're making to stay on course. I know, I know, it's only February, but I feel confident that we can stick to this!

You know the saying, "the days are long, but the weeks are short"? SO TRUE. My days are filled the everyday craziness of living with and caring for a toddler. He is 100% boy in every way, curious, and into everything. He doesn't give me one spare moment most days, which means I'm working all weekend and late most nights. I really don't mind though. I can't tell you how much I love my job!! I thought we were well past due some peeks. Take a look at the sweetest sisters ever in this hot chocolate themed photo session. They were such troopers as it was a very cold that day!
Last month, I also photographed the new XOXO print by Sophie & Lili for House of Mia. You can view most of the photos in my guest post "6 Tips for Photographing Your Toddler". I had the opportunity to work with the super talented mama behind Little Baby Garvin as our cute model for the day was her daughter, Harper, and the shoot took place in her home! I was so excited to have her share her talents in creating the "Kisses" sign for our booth.
February has already started off with a bang. Last Saturday were the Kissing Booth Mini Sessions and we couldn't have had a better turn out! Thankfully, we had a break between snow and rain, with a couple of days of sunshine to clear the ground. The weather that day was perfect [considering the time of year], with great cloud coverage (perfect lighting!) and little wind. I seriously have the cutest clients ever!!! I'm already dreaming and scheming about the Easter Mini Sessions to take place in March!
Also, last week, I had a photo shoot of the new flip dolls for Sophie & Lili! The theme of the shoot was "slumber party" which I had way too much fun styling! It pretty much confirmed that if Benjamin and I ever have a girl.. yikes. I mean, seriously.
I feel so blessed to know what my passions are in life, and to be able to pursue this creative avenue is truly a dream come true. I am thankful for the opportunity for continual growth and am so proud of the work I've already accomplished. This year I hope to expand Joleen Pete Photography and even bring on an intern in the Spring/Summer.

I'm so excited about all the changes I'll be implementing this year, including with this blog! I'm so happy to announce that there will be regular contributors to Love, Joleen, beginning this month.

Another busy weekend ahead, with two sessions scheduled. For sneak peeks and other photography related news, be sure to follow me on Facebook! Have a great weekend, friends!
