First Birthday Highlight: Everett's Pumpkin Patch Party | Orange County, California

This last week was even more of a whirlwind that I had anticipated. Even with all the busy-ness of work and life, Halloween parties, and birthday party prep, I still imagined myself sitting down to blog more often. It just didn't happen. I'm realizing more and more that I need to be more realistic with my time management, say "no" more, and delegate when possible. My sister, Aimee, and nephew, Aiden, fly in tonight and I couldn't be happier! I've been working like a crazy lady to clean our apartment, wrap up two big commercial projects, and get things in such a way that I'm not bogged down with too much this week. Benjamin's party is next Saturday and it's going to be such an awesome time with our family and friends.

I'm really excited to continue with the first birthday party highlights and today you're in for a real treat! Everett's first birthday party theme was one of the most unique I've seen and I'm thrilled to share it with you. I met his mom, Tessa, in elementary school and through the magical world of Facebook, am able to keep up with her beautiful family back in California. Thanks so much for sharing, Tessa!
What was the party theme and why did you choose it?
The party theme was a pumpkin patch. I chose it because I'm a big fan of Fall and thought it sounded a little more unique for a theme but pretty simple to accomplish.
The party had a fun, relaxed, casual vibe. We had a lot of special friends and family to help us celebrate. We ate messy BBQ food, the kids played in the "pumpkin patch" we created with hay bales, pumpkins and scarecrows. Kids and adults goofed around in the scarecrow photo board. It was an all around, happy memorable day. Maybe a tad stressful. :)

What were your favorite details?
I had a cut out photo board of scarecrows that a friend of mine made-it's adorable! We also had "adult apple cider", pumpkin spice and caramel cream cupcakes.
