Back in November, Benjamin and I had the opportunity to visit Zoo Atlanta and attend the Adventure Cubs program. Adventure Cubs is a program geared specifically toward toddlers/preschoolers ages 3 and 4 [along with their caregivers]. Each program is a different theme and lasts about an hour.
The theme on the day that we went was "Spectacular Scales". Benjamin was so excited to get to meet a snake and baby alligator up close and personal!
The coordinator used flashcards to teach a short lesson and then the kids got to play in a little activity area. Finally, the group ventured outside and into the zoo to see the giant tortoises (which I happen to love!).
We thoroughly enjoyed the program and will definitely attend another. The cost includes zoo admission so after it ended Benjamin and I got to spend the day at the zoo! We had only visited once before when Benjamin was just 5 months old [see here] so it was really like a first-time visit for him! He looooooves giraffes so that was the first exhibit we visited. For $1 he was able to feed one and his day was made.
New in 2015 was the Scaly Slimy Spectacular exhibit. We couldn't wait to see it in person and the facility is beautiful. Check it out!
We both had a great time and are looking forward to Adventure Cubs starting back up in the spring!
