As you may have heard, some select boxes of Cheerios™ and Honey Nut Cheerios™ produced over two weeks in July at the Lodi, California plant, have been recalled due to a wheat allergen.  This recall only affects consumers with Celiac disease or a gluten-sensitivity. To learn more about the recall, and if your product is affected please go to:
After completing two Whole 30's and adopting a mostly-Paleo lifestyle for much of the last year and a half, I was happy to learn that Cheerios ™ (as well as Honey Nut Cheerios ™, Multi-Grain Cheerios ™, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios ™, and Frosted Cheerios ™) was going gluten-free! The awesome thing is that there will not be any price changes them!

Cheerios ™ were always a staple in our home growing up, and was the very first cereal I gave my own son as a baby. It's still one of my favorite simple, wholesome go-to snacks for Benjamin, at two and a half years old. He loves them!
To celebrate the new gluten-free product line, Cheerios ™ has launched the  "Buy a Box. Give a Free Box." coupon program. Each box of Cheerios ™ will contain a unique code that shoppers can enter online to give an e-card and mailed coupon for a free box of Cheerios to a recipient of their choice!
It's a super simple process! Step 1. Visit to enter your reward code.
Step 2. Create an e-card to email a friend.
 Enter a personal message!
 Send the e-card! Easy peasy!
Step 3. Your friend will click the link in their e-card to enter his/her postal address.
Step 4. Your friend will receive a VIP Coupon in the mail for a free mid-size Cheerios ™ box! Yippee!

With our vacation to California coming up later this week, I decided that our most recent Tot School theme would be "airplanes". I was excited to incorporate our Gluten-Free Cheerios ™ into a fun snack for Benjamin.
I even made him this play mat, but I think he was more interested in eating the Cheerios ™ than in the actual counting activity. Ha! It was such a hit that I've since punched holes in it to add to our Busy Bag Binder for the trip!

You can download your own FREE Toddler Play Mat Activity, here. Enjoy!
