2015-2016 Tot School Themes

Today starts a new year of Tot School and we're pretty excited around here! Last year we only kept up with a scheduled plan for about two months. This year I'm trying to be much more organized. The first thing I did when I sat down with my calendar was to look into educational field trips. If you're in Atlanta, I just posted 9 Awesome Atlanta Field Trips for Families with Tot Schoolers on Based on that list, I added several field trips to our Tot School plans and based that week's theme around those. I blocked time "OFF" when I knew we'd be on vacation or celebrating a holiday. I assigned a letter of the alphabet in order of each week for the first time we go through them. After that, they're assigned based on the weekly theme. Alphabet recognition is a big goal for us this year! I went through each week, adding Bible verses to memorize together. Sometimes they were influenced by the weekly theme but mostly they're random. I used these 52 Kid-Friendly Bible Memory Versus. Not pictured in the chart below, are the field trips, books, crafts, and activities, to be filled in as I'm inspired and while planning.
