We just got back from the Pete Family Reunion in Washington, D.C. What an experience! It was my second time there, having visited with my best friend while I was pregnant, but this time the highlight was touring the White House! I will share all the photos, of course. The architecture in D.C. is incredible. It sort of feels like you're on a movie set because it's just so perfect. I love the intricate details of the historical buildings and monuments.
Packing for the trip was a challenge and one that I happily accepted. I knew it was going to be hot and that we'd spend a lot of time walking. My outfits needed to be cute (duh) and functional. This was my favorite. This fuschia/purple is my favorite shade of my favorite color and I thought the skort was so fun!
The crowning jewel (get it?) was this statement necklace from my July Rocksbox. If you're not familiar with Rocksbox, it's a monthly subscription box for designer jewelry. For just $19 a month you'll receive three designer pieces to borrow, wear, and buy (if you choose). You can opt to keep just one piece, all of them, or none at all. Plus, you get to fill out a survey which lets your personal stylist know more about your style and needs. The best perk, perhaps, is that you'll be offered a discounted price to make the jewelry your own! If you're interested in trying Rocksbox out for yourself, use my discount code for your first box FREE: joleenpxoxo. Enjoy!!
