Have you gotten in on the crop top trend? I love it and have been wanting one for a while now but haven't felt brave enough to actually follow through with wearing one. Then the internet exploded when O magazine published "advice" to only wear one if you have the flattest of stomachs. From that ridiculousness, the hashtag #rockthecrop was born, and curvy women everywhere have flaunted their stuff. Beautiful women in all shapes and sizes have been paving the way for belly freedom. (I hope you giggled a little bit.) But, in all seriousness, the experience was still odd for me. Although I feel [nearly] completely comfortable in a bikini at the pool, showing this itty bitty skin was hard for me, confidence wise. I will say that finding the absolute perfect bottoms was imperative. I needed something that was flattering and fit loosely on my stomach/hips, without cutting into my skin.

I found both pieces on sale at Kohl's, so the entire outfit was less than $25! Score. It was an added bonus that I got to flaunt my "you are not alone" tattoo, which so rarely makes any sort of appearance. I love this "wrap style" which flows like a skirt. They're pretty darn sexy if you ask me. *wink* I accessorized with silver rings on both hands and wore my House of Harlow 1960 "Shakti" engraved silver bangle [from my July Rocksbox].
Also from my July Rocksbox, are these Perry Street "Jean" crystal earrings. I loved the understated edginess of this statement piece. If you've yet to try Rocksbox for yourself, you can get your first box free when you use my code: joleenpxoxo.
Would you believe me if I told you that this ENTIRE outfit was actually purchased with these gorgeous wedges in mind? They're the "Woodn't You Know It" wedge from The Mint Julep Boutique and they are just perfect! I may or may not have squealed when they arrived (ok, I totally did!) and they haven't disappointed me for one single second. I'll be honest and say that I've been wearing them for about a month now and every time I am shocked by how comfortable they are! And with a price point of only $40, there is really no reason not to have them in your wardrobe this summer!
In fact, the prices are just too good all around! I am loving the Space Between and Shatter My Illusion dresses, both just $45. I am so excited to have teamed up with The Mint Julep Boutique to offer one Love, Joleen reader a $25 gift certificate! This giveaway is open to US residents and ends at midnight Friday, July 24th. Good luck!!
