Ya'll. I can't even tell you how amazing our trip to California was. It's always wonderful getting to spend time with our family and see my bestie, but this trip was extra special because we got to celebrate Benjamin's 2nd birthday there too! Last month we had a low-key Mickey Mouse birthday party at home with our good friends and Georgia family. Benjamin's birthday landed on Thanksgiving this year so we got to celebrate with our California family. The next week we took Benjamin to Disneyland for the very first time! My husband hadn't been since he was a young child either so it really was like a first visit for him as well. Seriously, I've never seen them so in awe and my heart was soaring the entire time! We went with my BFF (and Benjamin's godmother), Candice, and throughout the day more family joined us. Yay for their season passes!
You can just see Benjamin's joyful anticipation riding into the park! It was a bit of a dreary morning but not cold and we appreciated the clouds. It was such a treat to visit during the holidays! The Christmas decorations were so beautiful and really added to the festive feel and magic!
Obviously, we ate ALL THE THINGS. That is seriously my guilty Disney pleasure. I couldn't wait to share all the yumminess with the boys. You know, I really just realized that the park food is really part of the tradition and experience for me. For example, there is nothing better than getting a funnel cake and eating it while watching old Mickey episodes in the theatre on Main Street. I was thrilled that Benjamin shared my love for the "big pickle"! I mean, honestly, these aren't even all the treats we had throughout the day!
This gazebo was at Toon Town City Hall. Immediately it reminded me of my favorite of our courthouse wedding photos! I was so excited to recreate it and I can't wait to frame this photo for my office.

if we have the courage to pursue them."

Oh, Walt. I love this man and his ingenuity. Seriously such an inspiration to see this statue every single time!
See how Ben is lookin' a little ill here? Haha. This was after I convinced him to ride the Mad Tea Party (teacups ride) with me, after he told me he can't do spinning rides. Oops. I looooove the teacups!
It was truly such a special day that I will treasure forever. I know that Benjamin won't remember this first visit but we took plenty of photos and have so many stories to share with him. I look forward to future Disney visits and memories!
