One of my goals for 2014 is to complete Project Life. I thought long and hard about whether or not this would be the right year to do it. There was the 52 week long commitment to consider as well as the financial aspect of any new project. I decided that if I was going to commit to doing this year, that I couldn't make it too much of an extra expense. We are on the most serious spending freezes of my life and I am 100% committed to our plans this year to become debt free. I need creativity in my life and I relish in completing new projects, but the two goals cannot compete. Needless to say, I ended up deciding to move forward with the project this year but to do it as inexpensively as I possibly could. I am going to really utilize what I already own in the way of scrapbooking materials. I purchased a package of baseball card sleeves from Target and was going to use a school binder to keep them in. As you can see in this post, my first week's layout was completed this way. I still haven't designed my cover page yet, but I really love the look of the Week One. Since I've decided that my weeks will run from Monday to Sunday, week one covers January 1st through January 5th.
So, remember my intentions just to use a school binder? Hehe. One of my very best friends, Heather, wasn't having that, and ordered me the most thoughtful gift! Yesterday I received this 12 x 12 album, a variety of page protectors, and a Core Kit designed by Kerri Bradford. If you haven't seen these albums in person, they're HUGE! I really debated redoing my first spread so the pages were all the same but my husband and Heather both convinced me that it would look good to have different size pages. After I put everything in the binder I warmed up to the idea and actually really like the way everything looks! I can't wait to fill this album up!
